Dalston House Commended

HÛT created a home that preserved the character of the existing building while merging it with confident modern design. The major architectural addition came in the form of 2 slick black boxes to the rear of the property. Each box is made up of metal cladding with a ribbon of glass wrapping over the walls and roof. The 2 storey box encloses a new staircase down to the large open-plan basement level, which is centred around the kitchen and dining space. The single storey box adds space for entertaining, and flows into the garden beyond.
