The Guardian Lounge

The Guardian Lounge for the 2005 Glastonbury Festival was designed entirely from re-cycled, re-used, and re-purposed building materials and elements. The main structure, resembling a giant folded newspaper, was created using a proprietary aluminum framework system as found in military applications. All furniture and fittings were salvaged or recycled, with a 20m long glowing bar made out of multi-wall building plastic and a recycled timber bar top. Bar stools were made out of scaffolding poles, tables from old floor joists, and the various lounge decorations and furnishings sourced from salvage.
