A development of 36 refined residential dwellings in Clapham, South London. The proposal focusses on quality of living space, internal and external materiality and resident amenities within a highly-constrained site surrounded by neighbouring houses. The new building takes visual cues from the listed bandstand on Clapham Common, with decorative stonework and colonnades to entrances and balconies, as well as fine attention to brickwork detailing. Window configurations maximise daylight and outlook whilst mitigating overlooking risk. An intensive greening of the site brings the Common to the door through an expansion of planted areas, wildflower green roofs and refined pathways and street furniture.
