Dalston House has been shortlisted for the 2014 Sunday Times British Homes awards in the category for ’One-off house or extension up to 2,500sq ft.’ The British Home Awards celebrate imaginative and innovate designs which inspire the creation of high quality beautiful homes. The major architectural addition at Dalston House came in the form of 2 slick black boxes to the rear of the property. Each box is made up of metal cladding with a ribbon of glass wrapping over the walls and roof. The 2 storey box encloses a new staircase down to the large open-plan basement level, which is centred around the kitchen and dining space. The single storey box adds space for entertaining, and flows into the garden beyond. We look forward to hearing the winning projects announced in September.
