Our Build The Way Trainee Kyle has recently completed the first term of his traineeship. All the trainees were tasked with preparing concept proposals for a selected site in London, equidistant to all the practices participating in the BTW programme. Through his research, Kyle identified a lack of leisure use class in the area and proposed a scheme for a table tennis focused social space in a rooftop extension above an existing pub, developing a scheme that responded to the brief in a thoughtful and driven way. Kyle’s design proposals aimed to bring a sense of delight to the users upon entering the space, picking up on one of HUT’s core values. We think it was a resounding success and can’t wait to support Kyle as he gets involved in live projects at HUT, now that he is skilled up and raring to go!
